To all the Low Sec POS owners sick of worrying about when a bunch of Caps are going to roll-in and take down your POS, I have the solution! I am starting a Channel that will open in about a week where very select and capable Corps are looking for an opprotunity to drop thier Caps on your offenders The Channel is called "Hot Drops" and at this time I am looking for as many Low Sec POS Owners as possile familiar with this issue to email me in game if interested in joining the Channel before I select and invite the 4 Hot Drop Corps I have in mind. We need to "build it before they will come"...... Get your Fraps up and a 12-Pack on your desk, the days of sitting by while your hard work goes to Sh** are over...... - MM

Yes it should make for some great Kill Board additions, some amazing "OMFG" situations, and give the Hot Drop Corps something to look forward to each weekend :) - MM

So far I am getting some good responses from many Low Sec POS owners who love the idea. "It's like AAA for your POS".... I recall a YouTube vid where Destiny got their ass handed to them by another Corp that dropped on them..... could not find the vid though........would love to have linked it so people could see first hand the response some of these guys can provide. Anyone got a link to one? - MM

Good points and I have the following details which have gone out to the Hot Drop Corps (Response Contractors - RCs) And I am getting a good solid base with 5 commitments so far: Email as follows: Thank you for your interest and the details are when a small Corps Low Sec POS is attacked, in most cases, the POS owner does not have the muscle to defend it and the POS is lost. My idea is that the Owner will have an opportunity ask for a "Response Contractor" Corp like yours to show up and kick some ass.
With that said the detail of what time the POS will come out of reinforced will be given out to the confidential list of Response Contractors but not where it is until I get a count on what Corps can do the job at that time.
Those who respond yes to the time will need to tell me approximatley where they will be leaving from and I will respond with how many jumps it will be for them using lvl-4 Jump Drive for Dreads.
If the number of jumps is determined to be acceptable then one of the Response Corps will be chosen and all other offers will be pulled so there is no chance for 2 response contractors showing up. The POS details and Owner info is then released to you to develop your own plan for execution within your ranks (logistics, recon of area, who is the aggressor, how many Caps etc.) Then its up to your Corp/Alliance to respond.
Lets keep in mind that the POS was going to be lost anyways and its a small Corp owner, so a fee for doing the work is somewhat limited and is really paid by the Owner through the salvage and loot you get from your kills and the opportunity to load up your Killboard for the day.
I would be happy to go into more detail in private convo so please feel free. Any adjustments and advice are welcomed.

Well Newb some of us enjoy living out on the edge even if its gets a little hot at times. At this point I have commitments from 8 of the best Corps in the game to review Low Sec POS opportunities. To keep the confidential aspect of this option inplace it was reccomended that requests are not made via open channel. Please email or convo me directly if you would like to set up a Hot Drop on the day your POS comes out of reinforced mode.
Good luck and I look forward to the first request - MM |

No affiliation with the Muffins you speak of but thanks for asking......sounds like I could have picked a better name Anyways no, I run a few industrial Corps and have lost enough POS in my time to figure out a way to make it a little more fun when it happens. I don't make any isk off the deal, just the satisfaction that the bastards didn't walk away with all my stuff with out a fight... As far as security holes go feed back from the Response Corps have helped reduce the risk of a counter drop significantly. Such as details provided with the initial offer to them all does not contain enough info to allow for an effective counter drop to be formulated coupled with the fact that no one knows who the other Corps are getting the offer. Many more details were ironed out as well. And lets face it, I'm not doing all of this so I can some day get one Corp to respond to a trap. I want to be doing this for years to come and build the reputation to support it... Thanks for the post - MM |

Passin thanks for the feedback on this. The way I have it set up so far is that the POS owner won't know who, what, or when the Response Contractor (RC) is going to show up since the key to this is that the RC needs to know that there are no intel leaks. At this time I have a good spread of Corp/Alliances on my list but you bring up a good point which is that I need to start seeing some feedback from POS owners at this point via email letting me know what Region their POS is in so I can match their region to the RC's I have to make sure I have it well covered. If I dont have an RC for that area I can start working on it now and not on the day the POS owner needs it. I don't need specific details, just enough to help me confirm that an RC is within 1 or 2 cynos away from your general area etc. I think one of the best ways to pay these guys back would be to make sure you have access to plenty of fuel to get their Caps back home so stock up on Oxygen and Nitrogen Isos if you have a station in system or hanger. I will consider other people for my Corp someday but beit that trust is the only reason these RCs would show up I think its better that they see a Corp of only 1 person for now. POS owners intersted need to send me some details so I can match you up. Thanks again for the post - MM

Passin and all, Again thank you for the post. I should have been more clear in the above threads regarding the window of opportunity being chosen by most of the RC's I have had discussions with. Because the response time to defend a POS prior to Reinforced Mode (RM) is so small, they have chosen the RM end time to be the information which they prefered to be distributed with my offer. This will allow enough time to review the availability of their Corp/Allaince members and determine if the number of jumps required is acceptable.
The option for the open "Hot Drop" Channel posts with the RC Corps/Alliances representatives being visible was removed since I have agreed to keep their identites confidential at all times. Again, the POS owner will be told that offers have been made but will never be told if a RC had accepted. He/she will find out the day the POS comes out of RM.
The best thing a small corp POS owner can do while being attacked and plans to use my services, is to never say anything in local, write down all aggressing Character names, Corporations/Alliances, ship numbers/types, and who the cyno was that brought in their Capitals. Once the POS goes into RM, email me with the details and go get yourself a 12-pack and a cooler. The chances are better than none that loosing your POS will never be so much fun....
Keep emailing me with your POS general locations so I can match you up with potential RCs on my list. Thanks again for the posts. - MM

SL, That sounds like a good idea you all had going on. Feel free to convo me anytime to discuss or I check this forum thread at work and can respond as well.
One option I was considering was to notify one of the larger Mercenary Corps if I get intel on a fresh attack of a clients POS. This could potentially stall out or stop the attack but if it did not, the end result would be that I could not now turn and ask an RC to respond at the RM end time since the possibility of a real cluster f**k happening would be high with a 3rd party (Merc Corp) being in the mix. So end result is if a Merc Corp was ever asked to respond to primary attack and failed, an offer to one of the RC's asking to respond at RM end time would never go out.
Anyways, this will be a very tight option for small corp POS owners and RC's which could prove to be interesting with the new shape of EVE taking place. - Thanks again - MM

So far I have pretty good coverage of RC's willing to take a look at hitting the South, Central and East but thin on low sec coverage West and North. Any Corps/Alliances willing to review offers located in those areas please email me.
On another note..I have been told by most of the RCs that there are Corps/Alliances out there with few Caps and are just as deadly and I should be including them on my offers. Any Corp/Alliance looking for opportunities to hit a target rich environment and save a small merchants ass please email/convo me in game and we can go over the details.
I would like to thank all the current RCs who have been kind enough to discuss and shape this idea with me. The list of POS owners continues to grow so please keep the emails comin folks. - Thanks again. - MM

LS Sledge, Thank you for the blunt post since it's going to be these type of questions and answers that will prompt potential RCÆs to accept my offers if they are addressed now.
Scenario: "Hi there. I'm a 2 man corp with a small moon mining POS that's been put into reinforced by a small group of pirates. Can you send a couple of carriers to scare them off and Rep the shields?"
Answer: No, the Response Contractors (RCs) that I work with do not Rep towers or commit resources prior to getting enough intel on their own which would show them that they will have the upper hand in any response to your situation. Please email me with: òThe exact time your POS comes out of RM òThe exact location of the POS (Sytem/Moon) òCharacter names of the attackers so we can examine Corp and Alliance affiliations òShip types and number of each that showed up òWhat Corps & Alliances are located in your Region that pose a threat. If I have any further questions I will get back to you otherwise I will make the offer and, if an RC accepts, you will know only at sometime after your POS comes out of RM. You will not be told who or if anyone is showing up and if this is not acceptable to you please email me back since the safety of the RCs will be my primary goal at this time. Thank you û MM.
The RC that accepts an offer will have the time to scout the area, examine who they will be attacking, what their kill boards look like, who they typically work with, and any other resources of intel which would help them set-up the kill. If at anytime the RC decides through their intel process that the response could not result in them throwing a serious beating to the aggressing Corp they can simply not show up.
To further clarify this situation, the RC is not expected to be standing there waiting for the aggressing Corp to show up at RM end time nor drop in when the POS RM ends to stop the attack. The set-up for this option is to allow the RC enough time to decide through discussions with his/her Corp or Alliance that they will have enough people interested and available around the RM end time and be able to gather enough intel for an effective response.
To be blunt on my end, the POS was going to go down anyways so the POS owner requesting this option should have no illusions that this is a guarantee that their POS will survive. If an RC shows up it will be based solely on the fact that they feel there is an opportunity for them to hand another Corp/Alliance their asses and not to save a POS. After the dust settles the POS owner can ask the RC if they would be willing to help Rep the tower.
Please keep the questions coming as they are very helpful - MM

Row, Sounds like the aggresors showed up with Battleships to take your POS or the fleet helping you out pulled the trigger too fast if there were no Capital kills? My fee is that I get the option of prefered pricing for a month on some of what your moon produces, not for re-sale, but for my own use in what I build etc. This fee applies only if the response saves the POS.
Once you email me the POS situation I will match the response with the right size RC if there is one available at the POS RM end time. If there is not one available then my next step will be to establish the best price with a reputable Merc Corp capable of handling the job. Depending on if the Merc fee (if any) is acceptable to you it will be held by me until the job is done.
Currently I am working on offering "POS Gunners" with my service which would be Clients of mine with available characters at Level-4 or 5 Starbase Defense skills. If the POS owner wants a little help with the guns, they can make a couple quick hires for the day and then kick them out when the job is done. - MM

Passin, As always thanks for the heads up on the update. I wanted to come up with a fee that was not going to be a burden on the POS owner since there was already enough isk at risk with the POS being attacked and the possibility of a Merc fee as well.
It's also a way of keeping the isk coming in for the POS owner as well as make another business contact.
Thread has been updated and fine tuned a little so there is new content/details painted in for the readers that have seen the thread a few times already - MM

Qara & Lykah,
So far so good and I am glad to report none of my clients have been morons. I have been very pleased to see that most are well prepared and are able to provide excellent details regarding their attackers. The details have assisted the RC's with thier response times as well as the ability to help repair the tower post Ref time. With this game seeming to get harder and harder for new players to gain a foot hold due to sh*t bags praying on them, I have developed a new faith through seeing the "old guard" dropping in to lend a hand. New relationships have started and in most cases the op has ended with the RC telling the client to call them anytime..
As always, convo or email me I am glad to help out - MM
